volunteer allocation set aside to ensure the event runs smoothly with the necessary crew.
Team Lead/2IC roles require 2-3 hours per week between now and the event.

Expressions of Interest are now being taken from people interested in helping pull together and run the next Burning Seed event as part of the new members-owned company, Sunburnt Events.

There are 3 main ways to get involved as a vollie:

  1. Help lead or 2IC a crew team - requires 2-3 hours per week between now and the event

  2. Be part of a crew that does it’s work in the 1-2 weeks before and 1 week after the event (eg Build)

  3. Be part of a crew that does a few shifts at the event only (eg Sanctuary, Gate, etc)

Crew Wrangling - Helping to allocate beautiful people to vollie crew teams (pre-event)

Communications - Publications, social media, websites development, newsletters. We really need a website master!! - We currently use Squarespace (pre-event)

Leave No Trace - MOOP masters educating us about leaving things better than we found them. [Most shifts are in the days following the event]

Sanctuary - Providing a caring chill space for those needing time out, and harm reduction information for a safe and fun burn - mental health first aid or prior Sanctuary experience required. (At event)

Build Crew - Set Up and Pack Down and everything in between. Construction/Trade experience preferred. (Everything from 3 weeks to 3 days prior to the event)

Rangers - Red Earth Rangers are a critical safety and communications team. (At event + training pre)

Participation Station/Info/Lost Property - Telling people where to go and where to find lost things (At event)

Sanitation - Managing contractors for toilets and restock team (Team Lead pre-event, shift leads at event)

Entry Crew - includes Gate, Greeters and Traffic (At event + some in the days before)

Kitchen Crew - to assist with the crew cooking team (1-2 weeks prior to event and At event + few days after)

Publications - from design to print - What-Where-When, Survival Guide, Maps (pre-event)

Site Design and Set Up - Signage set up and road marking a few days before the event and pull down on final day.

Finance Committee - CPA or accounting expertise needed to prepare budgeting, financial controls and reporting to Town Council (pre-event)

Centre camp - Running the central space/stage - audio engineering experience preferred (At event)

Artery - Managing Art on the Paddock, providing art-related information to artists and participants (pre and at event)

Traffic Management Coordinator - join the team that guides and directs traffic on site (At event)

FART - Fire Crew - Manage all the hot stuff - fire fighting experience needed (At event)

Theme Camps - Applications, grants, placement etc (pre-event)

Plumbing - Connecting up IBC water cubes for crew (pre event)

Site Operations - Experienced Site Managers, on-site administrators, WHS, site safety officers (at event)

Legal - Contract review, managing permits (pre-event)

Ice Monarchs - Ice sales on the Paddock (At event)

Schwag Genie - Coordinates schwag for various teams prior to the event (pre-event)

Effigy/Temple Support Build Crew - Qualified riggers, tradies and EWP ticket holders to support commissioned artists of major artworks. (On-site in weeks prior to event)
